ACTIA is joining in the effort to donate two e-cargo bikes, electrified free of charge by the company, to the UT1 student community shop. Provided by the Occitanie Region, these cargo bikes will be used to collect and redistribute surplus food to students in need. The donation was overseen by Mrs Nadia Pellefigue and Mr Jean-Luc Gibelin, Vice-Presidents of the Occitanie Region, and Fabrice Gouze, Head of “Mission Vélo” in the Occitanie Region. ACTIA is honoured to be supporting this initiative, reflecting its commitment to education and sustainable mobility.
A solidarity operation to improve the quality of student life

The cargo bikes donated to the UT1 ESOPE student community shop of Toulouse Capitole University will be used to collect surplus food from shops in the city centre and redistribute it to students at a reduced price. This initiative aims to address food insecurity among university students while also promoting short supply chains and clean, sustainable logistics.
This is a good opportunity to reiterate that, in the same spirit, ACTIA is also getting involved, alongside the Occitanie Region, in two innovative projects as part of the Vélo Vallée Cluster:
- “Vélo Gare,” an experimental initiative encouraging the use of electric bikes in addition to train travel.
- “Vélo Lycée,” a loan service that lends 200 electric bikes to students at 6 secondary schools in the region.
“In total, 400 bikes, including 340 electric ones, fitted with motorisation and electronic systems developed by ACTIA, are involved in these programmes, which are actively supported by the Region. We are proud to be contributing to these projects,” explains Olivier Jannot, Director of the Micromobility activity at ACTIA.
“ACTIA has chosen to get involved in these projects because they embody its core values, particularly its commitment to quality education and sustainable development. These values are at the heart of the Group’s identity and are promoted at every level of the organisation. This commitment also extends globally, as our subsidiaries support similar solidarity initiatives, whether educational or humanitarian projects for schools and academic institutions in other countries”, explains Jean-François Calmels, Deputy CEO of ACTIA Group and Head of CSR.

ACTIA motorisation for inclusive, sustainable and high-performance logistics
Since cargo bikes are designed to carry heavy loads, they require suitable power and specific riding protocols. These e-cargo bikes made by the Toulouse-based brand Botch Cargo Bikes and donated to the local student community shop are equipped with ACTIA’s technical features, making them perfectly suited to this use. Fitted with a high-performance torque sensor, these bikes guarantee optimum power, essential for carrying heavy loads while maintaining good handling: even in a busy urban environment.
Designed to meet the needs of sustainable logistics, the motorisation system of these e-cargo bikes demonstrates ACTIA’s ability to develop innovative solutions to address significant societal issues.
