ACTIA presents its connected CCTV solution for trains at the Élysée Palace

Le Fabriqué en France

….during the “Grande Exposition du Fabriqué en France”. ACTIA has been selected from 2500 companies, to attend the third “Grande Exposition du Fabriqué en France” (Made in France Grand Exhibition), held at the Élysée Palace on 1 and 2 July, 2023.
The group will present its real-time connected CCTV solution for trains, developed by ACTIA Telecom: the ACTIA group’s telecommunications division.
This solution has been designed entirely in Occitanie and manufactured on the Saint Georges de Luzençon site (Aveyron-France), at the foot of the Larzac. ACTIA Telecom, which has specialised in on-board railway solutions for more than twenty years, supports local employment combining rural life and digital high tech.

Connected CCTV: a clear vision for safe and sustainable mobility

The ACTIA solution allows all the security cameras located on trains to record and be viewed live from the control centre. It is the first real-time connected CCTV system on the market.

ACTIA’s CCTV solution addresses growing needs for safety on trains because it helps to:

  • Enhance the effectiveness of security services by enabling them to respond quickly in suspicious situations and/or ahead of incidents,
  • Improve the punctuality of trains, by immediately detecting situations that may lead to schedule delays such as abandoned objects which are the main cause of train delays for the SNCF (source: SNCF).

By reducing delays and increasing on-board safety, railway transport becomes more appealing. This has a direct consequence of reducing road traffic as well as carbon emissions related to the automotive sector.

ACTIA’s solution therefore contributes to mobility that is smart, safe and sustainable.

AN INTELLIGENT VIDEO ANALYSIS SYSTEM

The intelligent system analyses the videos from each camera and up to 50 cameras. It detects and reports potentially dangerous behaviour.

For example, it can single out:

  • Abandoned luggage,
  • Individuals who have remained on-board trains returning to the depot, etc.
  • Camera integrity.

Automatic detection of such events helps simplify the task of security officers who must react instantly, faced with vast walls of images continuously supplied with an increasing number of videos.

The surveillance system has a storage capacity of 40 TB and records high-quality images that can be used to identify suspects and for further investigations. Smart video surveillance is an essential tool for enhancing passenger safety on trains, as well as for preventing incidents and ensuring a safe and pleasant travel experience.

Promoting “Made in France” internationally

The ACTIA solution, marketed under the name HubView, is already making an impact on regional trains in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, demonstrating its “Made in France” excellence. However, ACTIA is not restricting itself to the national market. In accordance with international rail standards, the group’s aim is to also expand into new export markets. The rapidly changing European rail market in particular offers promising business opportunities for the ACTIA solution: safety and service for users remain the drivers of innovation in this market.

About: The “Grande Exposition du Fabriqué en France”

The Grande Exposition du Fabriqué en France is returning in 2023, following the success of the previous two events.

This annual event, which was initiated by the President of the Republic in January 2020, showcases companies, craftsmen, producers and manufacturers that are fully committed to French manufacturing.

The aim of the event, which is open to the public and free, is to promote all stakeholders, communities, companies and citizens who are involved in the action undertaken to support our industrial and economic sovereignty.

125 products manufactured in France and from all regions of mainland France and overseas territories will be exhibited at the Élysée Palace, in the gardens, rooms and courtyard. They are highly varied and illustrate the huge wealth of French know-how. They include everyday items, local specialities, industrial tools and iconic innovations, and come from companies of all sizes and all industry sectors.

This year, there is a particular focus on production practices that are environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and contribute to the preservation of regional know-how and local economic development.

Every French visitor will find one or two ambassador products from their region and, at the same time, will discover the best of everything that our country creates, and of which we are all proud.”
